Lorraine Kelly has been granted planning permission to extend her historic £2million home after a previous battle with neighbours over a pine tree.
The former boathouse, where Lorraine, 62, films Channel 4's Celebrity Gogglebox, already boasts a large sitting room with a vaulted ceiling and cast-iron log burner, a 24ft conservatory, bijoux guest house and 100ft wide garden. The property also has a summerhouse, boat mooring and landing stage with spectacular views across the Thames.
As reported in The Sun, the ITV host is planning to add an 18ft wide single storey side extension, projecting a further 15ft out onto an existing lawn, to create a bigger master bedroom including a dressing room and en-suite bathroom.
She applied to the local council for planning permission and was given the all clear after receiving no objections from neighbours. Lorraine needed consent because her home is deemed to be a heritage asset in a designated conservation area.
The stars planning agent told the publication: "The bedroom would have a pair of matching windows to the north and a set of French doors with side lights to the west, leading to a small deck and the views over the river."
This comes after her last application to get rid of a large pine tree that was causing Lorraine and her husband Steve's car to be covered in bird poo and pine needles was met with backlash from neighbours. The outcry prompted the council rejected the bid after it was called "whimsical and selfish".
The couple moved back to Buckinghamshire five years ago to be closer to Lorraine's work in London with ITV, after selling their £700,000 mansion in Dundee.
She often shares glimpses of her lavish home and reported from it during the pandemic in episodes called "Lorraine on Lockdown". She has previously showed off her home on Celebrity Gogglebox from her living room with daughter Rosie.
