Lorraine Kelly has vowed to take legal action after a Twitter account falsely claimed she had lost a stone in just six weeks.
The Scottish presenter was left fuming on Wednesday after she came across the tweet from an account, which only has 23 followers, that claimed she had lost weight following a “new diet.”
Left thoroughly unimpressed by the social media post, the 63-year-old furiously responded to the tweet and branded it “b****x” (sic).
Retweeting the post, she commented: “This is utter c**p and I have reported – please do not believe this utter utter b****x.
“I’m furious and will be taking legal advice.”
The ITV star was met with a wave of support from fans who claimed that they had also reported and blocked the account.
One fan, who was equally enraged by the claims, tweeted: “Glad you are taking action against this.. my girls read things like this and wonder how to do it.”
“Go get them Lorraine, you are an amazing human being, a beautiful soul,” a second shared.
The claims comes after the Lorraine host revealed she spent her Christmas and New Year recovering after undergoing surgery on her shoulder.
Speaking on Wednesday’s episode of her morning ITV show, she said: “I had a wee operation on my shoulder, it’s been annoying me for ages.”
As a photo appeared on screen showing her and her sling, she continued: “Thank you to Professor Levy and his brilliant team because, oh my goodness, keyhole surgery is incredible.
“I just had to remove some calcification and a little bit of bone and, yeah, I’m doing my physio and I’m all fine. But we had a really quiet one at Christmas and New Year.”
The beloved presenter then quipped, “Rosie and Steve looked after me and Rosie obviously takes after me in the cooking department, not,” as a video of a dessert made by her daughter appeared on screen.
