Lorraine Kelly unrecognisable as she shares 80s throwback to celebrate TV anniversary

Scottish TV host Lorraine Kelly has shared a major throwback photo of herself as a young news reporter, as she reminisces over the 'Golden Days'.

The ITV host, who has her own self-titled programme that airs each weekday, shared a photo of herself almost forty years ago, alongside former presenter Mike Morris. Captioning the photo on Instagram, Lorraine wrote: "FORTY years ago saw the launch of TVam.

"I started as Scottish correspondent in 1984 - and lucky enough to present the show from 1989 with Mike Morris - a kind, lovely fella and a total pro. Sadly missed. Golden Days. #tvam #friends #joy #breakfast #goodmorning."

Lorraine joined TV-am as Scotland correspondent in 1984, alongside presenter Mike Morris, who sadly passed away in 2012 after a battle with cancer.

Lorraine was one of the early reporters on the scene of the Pan Am Flight 103 disaster in Lockerbie in 1989, and was promoted to presenting TV-am's Summer Sunday programme following this.

The Scot was also heavily involved in the reporting of the Dunblane massacre in 1996, when an armed man shot dead 16 pupils and one teacher at Dunblane Primary School.

Lorraine was heavily involved in rebuilding the community after the mass shooting, and she headed an ITV documentary that was released in 2021, called Return to Dunblane.

Looking back on her successful career, fans flocked to Lorraine's comments to share their joy with the presenter.

One Instagram user wrote: "Stunning then, stunning now!"

Another said: "I remember I copied your hair! Did you rely on that telephone before computers were invented? #tartantreasure."

And a third wrote: "Pair of Legends!! Mike Morris was a one off."

A fourth added: "Still among the best in Daytime alongside the other INSPIRATIONAL women in ITV Daytime! I am inspired by you all."

One said: "Wow 40 years !!! And still looking fab …. Rosie is the image of you on this photo."

And finally, one concluded: "Feels like it was yesterday!"

The Scottish presenters self-titled programme, Lorraine, airs every weekday from 9am on ITV.
