Lorraine Kelly shares health update after missing ITV show due to sudden mystery illness

Lorraine Kelly has shared a health update after being forced to miss three episodes of her ITV show.

The TV presenter, 63, fell ill on Wednesday just minutes before her daytime programme was due to be aired and she was subsequently absent from the show on Thursday and Friday.

She confirmed she had been attacked by a "hideous bug" and was urged by bosses to go home and rest, with Ranvir Singh on hand to step in to hosting duties.

Lorraine has now revealed she is on the mend and told fans when she plans to return to work.

Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: "@reallorraine hope you are feeling better Lorraine?"

Other fans offered their well wishes to the star, with one person commenting: "Take care Lorraine x."

Another tweeted: "Get well soon lovely Lorraine x," while a third fan wrote: "Do hope you feel better soon, take care."

Her co-stars have also been sending in their get well messages.

Victoria Kennedy, editor of Lorraine, wrote: "Get well soon" adding a heart and kiss emoji. Aled Jones added: "Get well soon lovely x."

Lorraine's update comes as she previously took to Twitter to explain her absence from her show.

On Wednesday she wrote: "When you have to be sent home from work early in the morning because you are suddenly attacked by a hideous bug and were looking forward to interviewing @adamlambert"

She added: "Beyond disappointed but imagine if I had infected him !!!!!!"

Good Morning Britain presenters Kate Garraway and Ed Balls also confirmed on air that Lorraine had been sent home after feeling unwell.

They said it was the first time in a long time, maybe ever, that Lorraine had missed a show because she was ill.

Ranvir Singh wished Lorraine well, before revealing she got a sudden call from bosses that morning and rushed in to host the show, saying: "I got a call from the editor at 7.18 and I was on the train at 7.30."

She added: "I'm quite proud of myself this morning. Anyway, we want Lorraine to be well - don't we? But thanks so much to Kate and Ed there."
