Lorraine Kelly reveals she's 'up for' hosting ITV's middle-aged Love Island

Lorraine Kelly has revealed that she would be up for hosting a version of Love Island for middle-aged people, a show announced by ITV.

The programme will be similar to the steamy reality ITV2 version, but instead of a villa abroad, it will be filmed right here in the UK.

There's been months of speculation about plans to have a dating show for single parents, and Scots queen of TV Lorraine has been tipped the front runner to host.

Responding to the claims on Friday evening, she tweeted: "Hilarious! I’m up for it though," adding a red love heart emoji.

Bookmakers Coral currently have Lorraine 2/1 to take on the role. Phillip Schofield, Rylan Clark and Claudia Winkleman are also in the running.

The blurb for the programme reads: "ITV1 are looking for vibrant single parents from across the UK who are in search of love, for a brand new dating show!

"This is the ONLY dating show where single parents can search for love, by spending time in a luxury retreat, where all the parents have been nominated by their grown up children."

Earlier this week, Lorraine paid tribute to the 'best presenter' Ken Bruce after it was announced he would be leaving BBC Radio 2 after 31 years.

It was announced the legendary broadcaster was parting ways with the station, and would be moving to Bauer to join Greatest Hits Radio.

After seeing the news, she took to Twitter to praise Ken and his stellar career.
