Viewers may have noticed ITV morning show Lorraine's usual host - Lorraine Kelly - was missing from her regular 9am slot with Ranvir Singh taking her place on Wednesday, February 22. And at the start of the show, it was revealed why as Ranvir wished the 63-year-old a speedy recovery for a bug, after she had been sent home from ITV Studios sick.
As Good Morning Britain finished, viewers saw Ranvir tell Kate Garraway and Ed Balls: "I got a call from the editor at 7:18 and I was asleep. I was on the train for 7:30. I am quite proud of myself this morning. Anyway, we want Lorraine to be well, don't we?"
Speaking to GP Dr Anisha Patel later on in the programme, Ranvir added: "Listen, we're all thinking of Lorraine this morning. She is such a trooper. But of course when the bug hits, you just can't shake it off and you feel that sick, there's only one option which is to go home and lie down for a bit."
