Lorraine Kelly was left red-faced this morning after accidentally making a rude comment on live TV.
The TV presenter was discussing Taylor Swift’s rumoured romance with The 1975 frontman Matt Healy with entertainment correspondent Ross King on today's show.
As the pair tried to come up with a nickname for the new celebrity couple, Ross suggested said: “Have we got to the point where they have the joint name?”
Discussing what they could be called, Ross continued: “You can’t really have Swift Heal or Tay Matt – but I quite like Ma Tay Tay.”
“Oh OK, shall we make it a thing?” Lorraine replied, before backtracking when she realised the phrase sounded rather rude when she pronounced it in her Scottish accent.
Lorraine repeated it back saying: “Ma Tay Tay!” before covering her face and saying: “Oh, that sounds rude!”
The 63-year-old was then seen bursting into fits of giggles as Ross struggled through the rest of his showbiz segment.
“It sounds like ‘my t**y’ when I say that. We don’t want that,” Lorraine told Ross.
But he joked back: “I don’t know. There’s a lot of people who might want that!”
American pop star Taylor and British rocker Matt have been spotted on a string of dates since she split from English actor Joe Alwyn in February.
Taylor and Joe were together for six years and he seemed to be ‘The One’, but the pair apparently ‘struggled to make it work’ and he has been notably absent from her recent tour.
New boyfriend Matt is the son of Loose Women star Denise Welch and Benidorm actor Tim Healy.
The new couple looked smitten with each other as they were pictured leaving a recording studio in New York on Monday.
Matty and Taylor were joined by a number of other stars, including Florence Welch, Kendrick Lamar and Margaret Qualley and her boyfriend Jack Antonoff, who has often collaborated with Taylor.
The outing comes after Matty was seen dancing and bonding with Taylor's dad, with fans claiming he is ”part of the family”.
The pair, who have been friends for years, were first linked back in 2014 when Taylor attended the 1975 frontman's concert in LA.
Matty later revealed that they had "swapped phone numbers" at the show during a radio interview with Australia’s Shazam Top 20.
But they appear to have taken their friendship to the next level in recent weeks.
Taylor, 33, reportedly really likes rocker Matty, 34, and they are 'having a good time reconnecting again' according to a source.
Matt said at the time: “I mean, bloody hell, what am I going to do? Go out with Taylor Swift. She’s a sensation. I wouldn’t say no!”
