But fans mocked the legendary singer on twitter, with one posting: "Always wanted go to Wimbledon but genuinely terrified it would be when Cliff Richard was doing acapella again. Not worth the risk."

Brit Award nominated Classical crossover singer Camilla Kerslake also dressed up for the sporting fixture with a ankle length tea dress and statement black heels.

Appearing suited and stylish James Middleton and Alizee Thevenet were spotted heading into the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, although James' sister Kate Middleton— a huge fan of the sporting fixture — was not in attendance in the Royal box.

Meanwhile acting royalty Sir Ian McKellan had a front row seat to capture all the action and dressed in a grey suit and pale blue tie.
