Lorraine Kelly feared she 'failed' as she reveals secret heartache with husband

Presenter Lorraine Kelly opened up about her secret heartache with her husband as she discussed her tragic miscarriage.

The 62-year-old wanted to have more children but 'ran out of time' after having a miscarriage.

She shares a 28-year-old daughter called Rosie with her husband Steve - who she married in 1992.

Rosie was welcomed into the world in 1994 and Lorraine suffered a tragic miscarriage in 2000. Lorraine and Steven never went on to have more children.

Appearing in the How To Fail With Elizabeth Day podcast, Lorraine looked back at the lost opportunities and exclaimed: "I failed!"

"I think we just sort of ran out of time, and that was the thing I think I find I failed," she said. "Because although I wanted to, I didn't do anything about it.

"We could have gone down the road of getting IVF or surrogacy - there's so many options, but I thought, 'it'll happen.

"Then before you know where you are, you're going through the menopause and it's too late."

She went on to gush about her daughter, calling her an 'amazing girl'.

"I have got an amazing girl but there are times when I wish we'd been able to have another one," she added.

"How lucky am I to have an amazing daughter that still likes me? [It's] lovely, but I would have loved to have had more kids - boys, girls, whatever, I don't care!"

After graduating from university with a degree in journalism, Rosie went on a different path to her broadcaster mum and began working as a marketing and community manager at the company Accela.

Earlier this month, Rosie bought her first home in London, prompting an outpouring of support from celeb pals.

She posed proudly in front of her brick property, but told followers it would be a while until she and her beloved sausage dog Ruby will be moving in, as it's a "bit of a doer upper".

Holding the sold sign which was tied to the black iron railings in front of the property, which was listed online as £865,000 Rosie looked happy as she wore green trousers and a cream teddy-bear coat, in a picture she shared on Instagram.

Rosie, who presents the What If podcast with her telly legend mum, wrote in the caption: "Finally [key emoji] It’ll be a long time until @rubyisasausage and I move in as we’ve got a bit of a doer upper!

"So this is a warning that this page is about to be full of interiors and constant questions on my stories about what handle I should pick!"
