Lorraine Kelly has got Gavin and Stacey fans in a spin after suggesting that James Corden's return to the UK might mean a Gavin and Stacey reunion.
James, who has been hosting popular Stateside series The Late Late Show for the last seven years, has announced he will be leaving the show in one year's time.
He'd told fans: "I’ve some news of my own to share. Seven and a half years ago, I started hosting this show.
"It has changed my life. I love it, I love all the people who work here. I am so proud of what we have achieved. It has been beyond my wildest, wildest dreams.
"So I’m happy to announce today I’ve signed a new contract to carry on.”
James then said: "That’s really only half the story."
He then explained he didn't plan to 'overstay its welcome.' adding: "I always want to love making it.
"I really think in a year from now that will be a good time to move on to see what else is out there. We are all determined to make this the best year we have ever had."
"We are going to go out with a bang … there’ll be tears, so many tears, ‘cuz this has been the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make. I never took this for granted, ever."
Following the news Lorraine told her viewers: "He wants to come back to the UK to spend more time with his wife Jools, his family, and also his football team but here's a thought.
"Could we see more of Gavin and Stacey if all the cast are on this side of the Atlantic all together , all in the same place?"
"You never know. I'm just putting it out there."
Gavin and Stacey, a British sitcom which was written by James Corden and Ruth Jones about two families ran from 2007 to 2010 with a Christmas special in 2019 making it the most-watched comedy in 17 years.
