Loreen's Liverpool win was her fourth shot at the Eurovision Song Contest

Loreen has attempted to tackle the Eurovision Song Contest a total of four times over her career.

After her win at tonight's Liverpool contest, she sits happily next to the only other double winner in the show's history, Ireland's Johnny Logan. Loreen's first win came in 2012 where she quickly solidified herself as one of the contest's greatest successes after her showstopping performance in Azerbaijan.

Taking to the stage with Euphoria, she shaped the landscape for what a Eurovision song should be in terms of visuals and production. However, that was her second attempt at the contest.

In order to represent Sweden, artists must compete in Melodifestivalen, the country's national selection process. Her first attempt in 2011 saw her fail to qualify for the final but a later year she returned with a vengeance.

With Euphoria as her entry, she stormed the contest and made her way to Eurovision. The singer-songwriter went on to bag herself the second-highest score ever at the time, with millions of fans across the world rising to their feet to praise her performance.

Loreen became synonymous with the contest with fans to this day branding her the Queen of Eurovision. Despite touring the world and solidifying herself as music royalty, she dangerously risked it all for another chance at glory in MelFest 2017 with a new song, Statements.

She failed to qualify but the entry is considered an underrated gem in her discography that is "years ahead of its time", only picking up appreciation today.

This year marked her fourth MelFest entry and it was a storm with the jury and televoters. Back with Tattoo, Loreeen was the bookie's favourite to win with an 85% favour over her 11 competitors which she naturally accomplished. The dancefloor banger is pegged to do well overall in this year's Eurovision with it knocking the previous contenders, Ukraine, off the top spot shortly after it was released.

The only other artist to win Eurovision twice is Ireland's Johnny Logan in 1980 and 1987 but it appears Loreen is well on her way to joining the Eurovision Hall of Fame once again.
