Loose Women viewers upset over lack of current affairs and episodes not being live

Loose Women viewers noticed a lack of chat on current affairs and have called out the show on Twitter for not being live after Denise Welch appeared twice in the studio this week, despite being on a cruise.

The ITV talk show is known for reacting to breaking news stories, with episodes in previous months looking at everything from Boris Johnson's resignation to the contestants being revealed for Strictly Come Dancing. However, viewers of the show in the past week have noticed a lack of discussion of current affairs.

The hosts of Loose Women, such as Christine Lampard or Kaye Adams who have recently been doing the honours, will start the show by engaging the panel in a discussion over one of the big news stories of the day. However, viewers have noticed that rather than this, the last few episodes have focused on general topics, such as health and relationships and focussed on some of the ladies before they joined the show reports Chronicle Live.

Anyone who follows Denise on Instagram would have also noticed that she is currently on a cruise with her family, but has still been appearing on Loose Women this week, which means it was impossible for her to be there in real time. Shortly after Thursday's episode was aired, Denise even posted about meeting Loose Women colleague Carol McGiffin in Nice.

Viewers of This Morning have also commented on the lack of natural interaction between the presenters on the two shows, which have been very stunted. One viewer took to Twitter to post: "@loosewomen not live today? The handover from @thismorning clearly showed it."

A second tweeted: "@loosewomen so today’s programme wasn't live then. How many more are not live, you give the impression they all are." Another said: "Loose women looks like it’s been pre recorded for the last few weeks. No discussion on current affairs."
