Viewers tuning into Loose Women on Thursday were left unimpressed by a discussion by the panel on the cost of living crisis.
Thursday's edition of the ITV show saw Kaye Adams discuss the headlines with Carol McGiffin, Nadia Sawalha and Gloria Hunniford. Talk turned to the spending habits of people in the UK as Kaye revealed statistics that just four in 10 youngsters had some form of financial education at school.
The host asked whether children should be having more lessons about money - and viewers were quickly riled up by 82-year-old Gloria's response, The Mirror reports. The presenter was accused by some of being out of touch with the financial struggles faced by many young people following her comments.

Gloria began: "It's interesting actually, because of course, I know the world has changed massively but sometimes when a topic like this comes up, which I bet for all of our lovely audience today is a big problem... unless you're a multi, multi millionaire, we're in difficulty and we're all looking at the pennies and for ways to save. But when I was growing up back in the day, we were taught to save.
"So even at school level, we were taught the value of saving," she continued. "That attitude in a way has stayed with me all my life - I try never to go into the red, I never used to go out without money in my bag, I would never understand why people would say, 'well I haven't got any money with me.'"
Kaye responded: "This problem that we are facing is not the making of young people, we've created this world where we want people to spend, spend, spend."
Gloria replied: "But we are a nation now that thinks we can have everything, expensive holidays, designer shoes..."
Carol chimed in and said: "People expect to have everything they want, people do tend to live beyond their means..." as Nadia argued: "There is a gap in our education."
Gloria then continued: "We all have to cut our cloth accordingly at the moment because the facts are there, everything is more expensive, and there are ways that you can shave off things to help pay your energy bill or whatever it is," as Nadia argued: "But people are already on their knees."
Several viewers took to Twitter to air their thoughts on the comments of the Loose Women. "Turn on TV and seeing Gloria criticising young people. No clue how the world has changed. Turning off this rubbish #LooseWomen," one person wrote.
"Oh yeah Gloria, you know exactly how hard it is for someone on the NMW [National Minimum Wage]," another disgruntled viewer tweeted. "Some people have cutback so far they’re not eating anymore #LooseWomen."
A third said: "#LooseWomen People money talking about finances and struggles. They have no clue!! Hypocrisy!!"
"Four well paid presenters patronising us about saving money #loosewomen f*** off," another scathing tweet of the show read, while a different viewer pointed out: "Most people are not entitled. Most folk know they have to work to live, let alone to have nice things."
