Kaye Adams said she "felt sorry" for kids who had to move back in with their parents on today's Loose Women.
The panel - which included Kaye, Nadia Sawalha, Carol McGiffin and Brenda Edwards - discussed many topics on the ITV show this lunchtime including children having to move back home amid the cost of living crisis. Their comments come just hours after Coleen Nolan's son Jake Roche admitted he was "living on Universal Credit in his mum's garage".
Whilst the group never mentioned Jake's admission, Kaye spoke of it in a more general sense as she admitted she felt "sorry" for those who had to move back in with their parents. As part of their discussion, they also discussed if they'd ever let their kids move back.
During the chat, Kaye said: "I feel really sorry for young people who have to move back in with their parents. Young people don't want to be living with their parents but I wanted to go and be independent. I moved out when I was 17 because that's what I wanted to do. This is a situation that they really don't want but they're having to do it."
It comes after Jake admitted to a fan on TikTok that he was "living on Universal Credit in his mum's garage".
In a TikTok shared on his page, Jake, who was previously engaged to Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson, shared his thoughts about his career on a video clip on the social media site after one user asked him what he was up to these days.
The former soap star and pop star replied: "I'm on Universal Credit, and I live with my mum in her garage. I'm a failure." However, the kind TikTok user was quick to comfort Jake, insisting that he was far from a failure.
"Firstly I'd like to say you are not a failure," they replied with a message of support, "Everyone goes through hardships in life and you will get through yours," before Jake replied: "Thank you, you are a legend."
Coleen's eldest son Shane Richie Jr. just got married recently and Coleen discussed having some sort of "empty nest syndrome" ahead of the big day and admitted she would be a "weeping mess".
"You know people talk about empty nest syndrome when they move out the house and all of that, but, I never expected to have a weird feeling about him getting married and, it's not weird in a negative way, like I can't wait. I haven't even seen them walk down the aisle yet and I just think the whole day I'm going to be a weeping mess!" she said.
