Loose Women star Carol McGiffin takes aim at Phillip Schofield amid Holly Willoughby 'feud'

Loose Women star Carol McGiffin refused to hold back as she branded Phillip Schofield "bl***y rude" amid his 'feud' with Holly Willoughby. Carol, 63, who recently announced her departure from the ITV show over "contract issues'" shared her thoughts on the rumoured drama between Phillip, 61, and Holly, 42.

The This Morning presenters have found themselves embroiled in drama after reports emerged they were "barely speaking" off camera as Holly "cooled off" her friendship with Phil. During an appearance on GB News, Carol took aim at Phil, as she recalled a time when she was interviewed on This Morning in 2010 to promote her book.

She told Dan Wooton: "He wasn’t very nice to be honest. He treated me like, 'Oh another loose woman with another book'. I kind of get that, but he was so not interested it was a struggle. I was giggling, actually laughing because I couldn’t believe he was being so b****y rude."

Carol later added that she'd heard some rumours of his behaviour in the industry as a "lot of stories about him being rather unpleasant to a lot of people, especially to a lot of people who were further down the food chain in TV."

The ITV star agreed with the reports about the breakdown of friendship between Holly and Phil, and shared her views on the future of This Morning. "They so clearly don’t get on anymore. I know they used to. I don’t know why one of them doesn’t just want to go," she remarked.

Carol said it would be good to see fresh faces on the show, as Holly and Phil have presented This Morning together since 2009. Phil began hosting in 2002, and was joined by Holly seven years later when Fern Britton departed the ITV flagship show.

Carol said: "They’ve been there for so long, they can’t possibly need any more money, either of them. Give it up. You’ve had your time. Make way for somebody else who people actually like."

However, she said that "nothing will happen", and added: "ITV will do whatever they can to keep him there for some reason. I do not know what that reason is."

Carol isn't the only person who has slammed Phil in recent weeks, as former This Morning presenter Eamonn Holmes previously said: "I think there should’ve been a special award for Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby for best actors."

Eamonn added: "They may or may not be together on the telly today, but he’s brought in lawyers, she’s brought in [a] PR team. The public surely have sussed that there’s no chemistry, that there’s a broken fit between the two of them."
