Ruth Langsford has given a positive update on how her husband Eamonn Holmes is doing after it was revealed he'd been taken into hospital last week.
Last year, former This Morning host turned GB News anchor spoke candidly about his battle with 'chronic pain', telling his many social media followers it had left him in severe discomfort and unable to sleep. ITV viewers saw him hobbling on the This Morning set with a walking stick as he and Ruth covered for Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, before the veteran broadcaster decided to quit the channel and move onto pastures new.
He is now a regular on GB News every morning and it was after his absence from screens sparked concern that Eamonn revealed he'd been in hospital. Taking to Twitter he posted: "Hi everyone, Many of you have been asking why I haven’t been presenting GB News for the past week.

"Unfortunately, due to a reoccurrence of a long-term back condition, I’ve had to undergo some unexpected hospital treatment and am now following Doctor’s orders by taking a short time off."
He thanked viewers for their concern and assured them he'd be back and, as she hosted Tuesday's Loose Women, wife Ruth was asked how he was. After colleague Janet Street-Porter raised concerns, Ruth said: "He's out now, he's resting at home. You now he's had this bad back problem and it played up again and he ended up in hospital for a few days.
"So, yes, it's been a bit worrying. That's why I wasn't here last week. And he's out now and resting at home," adding: "Yeah, he's alright now, thank you."
