Loose Women panelist Katie Piper has spoken out on her recent health scare.
The TV personality was recently rushed to hospital to undergo an emergency surgery after her eye's health declined. Katie said that she had some pain in her left eye but she thought nothing of it as she has been blind in it for 15 years and often gets the odd bit of discomfort.
She added: "I'm used to a moderate level of pain and discomfort so I kind of ignored it." Katie said that the pain continued to get worse and then her husband, Rich, noticed a black dot in the middle of her eye.

The panelist said that she was made up thinking that her pupil had come back. However, it was actually bad news as the dot was a sign that her eye had perforated. She said: "It got bigger and the pain became intolerable."
She explained how she had an emergency procedure - a cornea transplant. She said: "It's something that I always feared would happen to me one day."
Carol McGiffin asked what caused it and Katie jokingly replied: "I think it was the stress of working with you." Their co-stars burst out laughing at the cheeky remark as Katie said she was joking.
Katie went on to explain how a cornea transplant works. She said that the tissue comes from deceased donors but there is currently a shortage in the country. She said: "I think people donating eyes is something that is very personal."
She added: "Some people don't want to do that which is totally understandable. But, they are very much needed for people like me."
