Loose Women's Janet Street-Porter reveals feud with Denise Welch as co-stars 'didn't talk'

Janet Street-Porter and Denise Welch revealed they "didn't speak" in the past as the Loose Women panellists addressed their friendship.

On Tuesday's show, host Kaye Adams, Janet, Denise and Brenda Edwards asked: "Should you stay in touch with ex-colleagues?"

Janet opened up on her experience as a boss in the workplace before referring to her Loose Women co-stars as her friends.

"Actually, Denise is talking to me, she never used to," Janet quipped as Denise replied: "I agree with you but there's a reason for that. There have been big changes."

Kaye gasped as Brenda looked horrified by the revelation.

Brenda told the Loose Women panellists that she saw them all as her friends: "All of you I've got your phone numbers and I talk to you individually."

The presenters all agreed they were each other's friends.

Denise then asked Janet if they were "friends" as the latter exclaimed: "You are my friend! Don't start being neuroutic, Denise. Don't mess it up!"

Janet continued: "If I'm honest, when I've been in a work situation where I've been the boss, you can't be pally, you can't have a close friend among the workforce because the other 99 percent will hate your guts and that person's life will be made a misery in a lot of work situations."

Meanwhile, it was announced on Tuesday's show that Loose Women is set to embark on its first ever live tour.

Loose Women Live will take in 16 theatres across England, Scotland and Wales including a date at the London Palladium.

Loose Women Editor Sally Shelford said: "We’re delighted the show is hitting the road for the first time with Loose Women Live! Having a live audience is such an important part of Loose Women and we can’t wait to be able to bring the show directly to our viewers in this way.”

Ben Hatton, Director of Theatre Touring for Cuffe and Taylor, added: “This is going to be a fantastic tour. Loose Women has been broadcast into millions of homes daily for more than 20 years and we’re thrilled to be able to bring the show to the viewers live and in-person, across 16 different venues, for the first time.”
