Loose Women's Jane McDonald beaming as she keeps busy with work after fiancé's death

Singer Jane McDonald is keeping herself busy and in good spirits as she films a new TV show, just over a year since the tragic passing of her fiancé.

The 59-year-old star lost her partner Ed Rothe to lung cancer in late March last year, aged 67, and later broke down in tears on Loose Women, as she spoke of her lost love.

But in a series of pictures on her Instagram, it seems Jane is determined to live life to the fullest, while filming her latest travel series.

In one picture, The Cruise star smiles as she wears sunglasses and an off-the-shoulder cream dress, while sitting on a beach in front of filming equipment.

In an accompanying caption, she wrote: "I've had an absolutely fantastic time filming my latest travel show. I can't wait to head off on my next trip to the beautiful Greek island of Rhodes at the end of April!"

Another picture shows the star in a sunny location, wearing turquoise trousers and colourful top.

Jane wrote: "I'm having a great birthday today- we're still away filming. Thank you for all the lovely messages!"

In a caption underneath the snap, she said: "Not quite a cruise ship but enjoying some time at sea!"

Jane and Eddie, who was a member of The Searchers, started dating in 2008, more than 20 years after they first met.

The lovebirds first dated for a few months back in 1980 when Jane was just 17.

They then got back together in 2008 and, became engaged after Eddie proposed on Christmas Eve of that year.

In spring last year, Jane announced that he had died in March, after being diagnosed with lung cancer, and battling the disease for months.

She returned to Loose Women, on which she used to be a panellist for many years, in November to talk about her loss.

Within second she burst into tears, after her loving Loose Women ladies welcomed her back.

Viewers were treated to a tear-jerking montage of memories of Eddie as Jane watched on with tear-filled eyes.

In her first interview since his death, Jane broke down on screen as she gushed over Eddie's 'beautiful nature'.

Holding tissues to her face, Jane sobbed as she apologised to the Loose Women viewers for breaking down into tears.

"I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. I didn't want to be like this," Jane sobbed.

"I don't want to feel sad for the rest of my life."

After composing herself, the grieving star expressed her love for her late fiancé, describing him as "golden" and "beautiful".

"Ed was golden. He was so smiley, and so beautiful.

"It's my first interview since he passed away, and I'm so glad and so grateful that it's with you ladies," Jane added.
