Denise Welch issued a swift and no nonsense reply to a critic who called on ITV to axe Loose Women telling them 'don't watch,' after the show was cut short on Tuesday.
The long-running lunchtime panel show is facing some disruption this week thanks to ITV showing live horse racing. On Tuesday, Loose Women followed This Morning in the schedules, as it always does, but, rather than being on for a full hour, it was cut to just 30 minutes, because of coverage of Glorious Goodwood.
The lunchtime news was on half an hour an earlier at 1 but, even though Loose Women was cut substantially, it still provided plenty of material for social media, not least Coleen Nolan's bed sheets confession that horrified colleague Brenda Edwards. Viewers were quick to have their say as Coleen admitted she doesn't always change her guest bedroom sheets between each visitor, with many siding with Brenda.

However, aside from Loose Women fans chipping in with their takes on the day's discussion topics, there was one tweet that, rather than join the debate, made an appeal for ITV to cancel the programme altogether.
The person responsible for the brutal post, wrote: "Can we just get #LooseWomen taken off ? It’s awful to think people imagine they actually represent most women’s views. I can’t bloody stand them, they’re thick as s**t and the programme has had its day. End of rant!"
The tweet was picked by long-serving panellist Denise, who was quick to respond in defiant fashion, sharing it on her own Twitter timeline and replying: "Don’t watch. Simple. You may have noticed an off switch on your remote."
As well as Denise, other Twitter users reacted to the comment, with one writing: "In some ways she has a point Denise I mean every topic seems to evolve into the presenters talking about their sex lives or how they do it rather than the general population."
And Denise was also quick to hit back at them too, telling the poster: "Well Adam. You may have noticed the show is called Loose Women. Not Uptight Women Who Don’t Have Any Sex. It’s also an opinion and anecdotally led show. We are SUPPOSED to talk about ourselves. Just saying."
