Loose Women's Coleen Nolan marks tragic anniversary away from ITV cameras with emotional post

Coleen Nolan has made a poignant statement about her late sister Bernie, away from Loose Women camera, on the 1th anniversary of her older sibling's death.

It was back in 2013 that talented singer and star of Brookside and The Bill, Bernie, passed away after a battle with breast cancer, leaving her family and legions of fans heartbroken. Coleen often talks about her family and the hard times they've experienced on Loose Women, but chose to address the tragic anniversary away from the glare of TV, instead taking to Instrgram to remember Bernie.

Sharing a photo of them together, Coleen wrote: "Ten years…. No words" And then, opening up on the grief she felt at the time of Bernie's passing and still does now, the former Celebrity Big Brother winner then addressed her 300,000+ Insta followers to say: "I think people wake up and feel guilty if they're not sobbing under the duvet or just being generally depressed and I think grief is a really personal thing. I do get up and I do go to work and I do still laugh, because I think about Bernie every day and I also think about if she was still here and I didn't get up she would beat my a**e and say, 'Get out of bed," because that's what she was like."

Coleen continued: "Sadly, although it's hard, sometimes life goes on, because it has to, and all we are left with are wonderful memories of people that we've lost. And we get sad because we loved them so much. And that's okay. And if you want to laugh, or you want to stay under the duvet, that's totally up to you."

Many people were quick to react to Coleen's emotional video, with Loose Women co-star Dame Kelly Holmes writing: "Love you and sending love," and one of her followers commenting: "We all cope differently you are right there. Sending love to all the family."

On Wednesday's Loose Women, Colleen shared how hard she'd been hit hard by the news that ex ITV star Fiona Phillips had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's, because it remind her of her own mum's struggle with the disease. Talking to her colleague, Coleen said: "Honestly, I was so shocked and it hit me like a ton of bricks. Obviously,. I've experienced the whole Alzheimer's thing with my mum and I know how, as a family, how traumatic that was and still is, to a degree."

She added: "You kind of....I don't mean you expect it, but it's less shocking if someone's late 70s/80s, you always assume, I have myself that you'll have some sort of dementia, but she was 61, before adding: "I could have sobbed when I heard her talking about it. Selfishly, it brought it all back."
