Brenda Edwards has revealed that she was rushed to hospital with a fractured leg after slipping on a wet pavement while in Blackpool.
The Loose Women star, 53, took to Twitter to share her injury details as she confirmed she has now been forced to pull out of her role in the Chicago musical.
The much-loved TV star posted a photo of her leg on Twitter as she shared her frustrations over the unexpected mishap.
Alongside a snap of her lower leg wrapped up in a cast, Brenda penned: "Gutted I’ll not be able to do my two shows today @ChicagoOnStage after slipping on a dodgy wet pavement here in Blackpool and fracturing my fibula.
"I was ready to go on in a wheelchair, nowt wrong with my voice, but I can’t.
"Hope to rejoin the wonderful talented cast soon."
Following her injury announcement, Brenda was showered with well wishes from fans and famous pals alike as they wished her a speedy recovery.
Her fellow ITV star, Ruth Langsford penned: "Noooo! Oh Brenda, you poor thing, sending you lots of love darling x x"
"This is such bad luck. But it 100% happened for a reason," another fan echoed.
"Thinking of you Brenda. This shouldn't have happened," someone else complained.
Meanwhile, a fourth wrote: "Awh you poor thing. Wishing you a speedy recovery babe."
Brenda was all set to play the role of Mama Morton after Gemma Collins bowed out last month after injuring her knee badly.
