Brenda Edwards said she gets "emotional" as she paid tribute to her son on Good Morning Britain.
Jamal tragically died in February after he suffered a heart attack aged just 31. The Loose Women panellist has since set up a trust to honour her son's legacy.
She was interviewed by Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley on Wednesday's edition of the ITV news programme and said the she has been comforted by the outpouring of love for her son after his death. Brenda added: "He was this lovely, happy person that always wanted to connect this one to this one…

She continued: "Without even thinking about himself most of the time, it was just about helping others." Brenda revealed she had been approached by a GMB producer, who was given his first hosting job by Jamal.
She said: "It’s nice to speak to those people - I get emotional with it - but it does give me strength that my baby helped so many people and that’s giving me the strength to keep his legacy going.”
Brenda has named the charity the Jamal Edwards’ Self Belief Trust and is using her son's strength to make sense of his death. She added: "His thing was about giving young people the power to think about the dreams they want to believe and how to achieve them.
“I’m still having conversations with people and it’s just a natural thing for me to say, ‘Jamal and Tanisha.’ And I’m still talking about him in this present tense."
She added: “I talk to him every morning and every night. I say, ‘Hello, good morning baby. Good night baby.’ I just talk about anything. I do get a lot of strength in that and he inspired me a lot. Both of my children are very inspiring and I would always talk to them about the things I am doing with work, with Loose or anything that I’m doing - he was always a champion. He was the one that started up my social media, because he said I wasn’t doing enough…”
