Sam Lalor faces an extended AFL layoff after Richmond's No.1 draft pick hurt his left hamstring again in Saturday's loss to Geelong.

The Tigers had been cautious with Lalor, giving him an extra week off to ensure he had recovered after suffering the same injury in the round-12 loss to Essendon.
