Newcastle United supporters appear satisfied with how the club has distributed Carabao Cup final tickets. World War III was expected on social media once news broke about how the highly-coveted tickets will be sold.
Buying an away ticket has proven difficult for many supporters since the Saudi-backed takeover was completed. Fans who had turned their backs on Newcastle in an attempt to force Mike Ashley out are now rejuvenated with their football club.
Reaching a first cup final since 1999 also makes the Wembley showdown on February 26 one of the most sought-after occasions in the Magpies’ history. Rants about loyalty points and potential ballots were expected as soon as an announcement was made but, surprisingly, fans seemed relatively content with the news.

Toon chiefs were never going to please everybody, with many fans resigned to the fact their chances of being inside the ground are slim. While the reaction was not unanimous, the majority of supporters acknowledged the club - who worked alongside the Newcastle United Supporters’ Trust for their decision - made a meticulous call.
A minority were still aggrieved, especially towards the allocation given by Wembley. Both clubs will be allowed 32,700 fans as thousands of tickets are held back for corporate partners. This is how Newcastle supporters responded to the news on social media.
Ray Atkinson: "Looks fair enough to me even though it looks like they won't reach me."
@andy_emmers: "Can't argue with the priority splits much here but if I had one change to suggest it would have been members who did attend a cup game should have been ahead of ST holders who did not attend a cup game. But I understand either way is going to mean someone loses out."
@Gallowgate82: "Can't please all of the people all of the time. All looks fair to me. Good luck everyone."
@So_Cal_Geordie: "Flight booked! No way I’m getting a ticket but I have to be there for our beloved @NUFC! Can’t wait! Toon till I die! #NUFC"
@DMnufc5: "My only gripe would be, those who have season tickets but not gone to any cup game should be put in the ballot with members who have been to at least one cup game this season. Apart from that, very fair."
@NUFCLC: "So someone who has 25 away only has to have been to one cup game, but those who’ve been to more cup games and have a season ticket have to be placed in a ballot. I know it wasn’t gonna please everyone but I can’t see at all how that’s fair."
