Looking Beyond CrowdStrike? 3 AI Security Stocks Stand Out

Despite pressure on the AI space weighing on technology stocks, CrowdStrike Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: CRWD) stands out as one of the most-upgraded stocks by analysts in recent periods. This makes sense: shares of CRWD have almost doubled year to date (YTD) and the company is enjoying major partnerships with Amazon's (NASDAQ: AMZN) AWS and Cerebras Systems (NASDAQ: CBRS), among others. CrowdStrike is not only a beneficiary of the recent rotation back into cybersecurity, but likely a primary driver as well.

Despite ratings upgrades, a consensus may be emerging among analysts that CrowdStrike's massive rally has left it overpriced. Shares of CRWD are about 13% above the consensus price estimate of $187.91, suggesting some downside may be in store. Fortunately for investors, there is a range of AI cybersecurity and adjacent companies positioned not to be direct CrowdStrike competitors, yet still able to find an important niche in this evolving landscape.

DataDog: Pioneering the Pivot From Observability to AI-Powered Cybersecurity

DataDog (NASDAQ: DDOG) is fundamentally a cloud observability company, providing clients with tools to monitor and collect data. However, over time, the company has blurred the line between observability and cybersecurity due to a newfound reliance on telemetry in security applications. DataDog's platform now includes this telemetry as part of AI-based tools, helping to facilitate cybersecurity as part of a broader infrastructure layer for AI operations.

Shares of DDOG have risen at nearly the same rate as CRWD this year, climbing by 88% YTD. However, the stock dipped following its Q2 2026 earnings report—despite strong results including 36% year-over-year (YOY) revenue growth and excellent free cash flow margins, among other things—potentially presenting a brief buy opportunity.

One important way that DataDog can be distinguished from CrowdStrike is in analyst sentiment. Analysts see massive earnings growth for DataDog helping to fuel further upside going forward, a deviation in expected share price movement compared to CRWD. With 40 Buy ratings and only four Holds and a single Sell, Wall Street is close to unanimous in its positive appraisal of DataDog.

Qualys: Delivering Robust Earnings and Pure-Play AI Security, Though Valuation Warrants Caution

The only true cybersecurity firm on this list is Qualys Inc. (NASDAQ: QLYS). With its TotalAI platform, the company has ventured into providing tools not just utilizing AI technology, but actually designed to secure AI technology itself. Notably, Qualys is integrating AI governance into existing platforms as well, an added bonus that may appeal to customers seeking to transition into the AI space from other industries.

Qualys is fresh off of a strong Q2 2026 as well, including solid top- and bottom-line wins, a hefty increase to full-year guidance for revenue and earnings, and increasing adoption of several of its popular products. With $703 million in cash and 46% adjusted EBITDA margins, the company's profitability profile is excellent and should allow it to continue to expand freely while also monitoring for opportunities to give value back to shareholders.

Up 40% YTD, QLYS shares have exceeded analyst price predictions by about 9%. While this is not quite as much as CrowdStrike, it has warranted some caution across Wall Street. Investors convinced of Qualys' long-term growth trajectory and willing to ride out some potential price corrections in between may be most interested.

Guidewire: The Unlikely Innovator Driving Secure AI Governance in Enterprise Software

Guidewire Software Inc. (NYSE: GWRE) is an unusual company to include on a cybersecurity list because its core business is software and cloud services for the insurance industry. Still, its emerging AI governance offerings represent a crucial trend: insurers are increasingly relying on AI agents to handle underwriting, claims processing, and other services, and Guidewire's new agentic framework helps providers to ensure that their execution is secure.

While Guidewire isn't providing cybersecurity solutions in a typical way, it signals a path forward that could be very lucrative—every enterprise that utilizes AI agents may need access to governance systems of this kind. The company's Qusar product may be transformative in this way.

Separately, Guidewire's business is executing quite well. The company's last quarter saw 27% YOY revenue growth and 19% annual recurring revenue growth over the same period. A flurry of new cloud deals and success with multiple product lines points to demand for Guidewire's AI lineup. Perhaps best of all for investors, Guidewire has not yet been a major beneficiary of the cybersecurity rotation, and shares are down about 12% YTD while enjoying some 25% in possible upside going forward, plus wide support from analysts.
