Aaron Rodgers has wasted no time acclimating to New York sports. The new Jets quarterback was seen Saturday at the Rangers’ Game 6 victory over the Devils in the NHL playoffs. He was seen at Madison Square Garden again on Sunday afternoon, this time for Game 1 of the Knicks-Heat playoff series.
He got quite an ovation from New Yorkers—understandably so. His arrival marks excitement under center for the Jets franchise for the first time in a long time. Rodgers couldn’t have picked a better time to get on the New York sports scene since there’s no shortage of good teams.

The Giants are coming off a postseason appearance, the Rangers are going to Game 7 Monday, the Islanders were just eliminated from the playoffs but made it nonetheless and now the Knicks are playing their best basketball in a decade.
New York is looking to make the Eastern Conference finals for the first time since 2000 and has a good chance to do just that as a No. 5 seed against a No. 8 seed. The No. 5–seeded Heat, however, just beat the best regular-season team, the Bucks, in just five games.
With Rodgers showing up to a Rangers playoff win, maybe he’s a New York good luck charm.
