Hyundai Is Testing a New Feature On EVs That Will Shock Tesla Drivers

Car companies are relying on new technology to differentiate themselves in an increasingly crowded field.

The more bold and game-changing the technology, the bigger buzz the company gets. Now South Korean car maker Hyundai  (HYMTF)  has a new technology that has social media buzzing.

Crab Driving.

Hyundai Mobis -- the company's mobility technology arm -- released new footage of what it has been working on.

The system consists of an e-corner module at each wheel that allows the vehicle to parallel park without turning the wheel.

The tech's 'Zero Turn' function moves the vehicle's wheels independently, allowing the car to spin around 360 degrees on a pivot.

“We are idealizing the e-Corner System in order to meet the demands for future mobility,” said Cheon Jae-seung, head of the Future Technology Convergence Institute at Hyundai Mobis, according to Car Scoops.

“We will secure different types of customized mobility solutions that can be applied in autonomous driving and PBVs to solidify our vision of reaching new heights as a mobility platform provider.”

Hyundai has not given a date for when the new technology will be available to the public, but the company has certainly created some anticipation with the release of this video.
