Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow is preparing for the game of his life against the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC championship game.
That game might have a little more meaning for Burrow after his father shared a certain picture on social media. Jimmy Burrow, the father to Joe and a former college football coach, shared an old image of his son on Twitter. In that photo, Joe is a young boy at what appears to be Arrowhead Stadium. While Joe isn’t rocking a jersey or much red, he’s wearing a KC Chiefs helmet.
“Joe used to like those shiny red Chiefs helmets,” the elder Burrow wrote. “Not anymore. Geaux Bengals.”
Joe will head back to Arrowhead Stadium, but this time he’s not intent on taking in the game from the sidelines. He’s out to end the season of the team he used to root for as a child.

As Burrow’s father said, Joe won’t be rooting for the Chiefs on Sunday and that’s OK. No matter what happens in the game, don’t be too hard on the Bengals’ starting quarterback, Chiefs Kingdom. After all, Patrick Mahomes grew up as a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan because he grew up in Texas, and we don’t give him too hard of a time for that.
