Road closures are expected to be place for drivers for the "long term" on a major Scots road after a fire devastated an derelict hotel last night.
Fire crews battled fierce flames which ripped through the old Lundin Links Hotel in Leven all through the night and into Friday morning, as previously reported.
Shocking video footage shared by the Record showed the fire tearing through the roof of the iconic listed building, which has been closed since 2014. Thick black smoke billowed into the night sky while the orange flames could be seen from miles away.
Police have now confirmed the A915 is closed between Cupar Road in Leven and Upper Largo with only local access in place. Long-term divisions will be in place via Cupar Road and the A916.
While Emsdorf Street which is immediately beside the hotel site is pedestrian access only.
Emergency services were first called to the scene at around 8.30pm on Thursday and a number of local residents were evacuated from the area.
The cause of the blaze is not currently known.
