KOCHI: Murali Sreeshankar’s short international athletics career has been blighted by setbacks.

Ten days before the start of the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Sreeshankar was forced to pull out due to appendicitis. He finished a disappointing sixth in his Asian Games debut at Jakarta the same year.
