For people who have been managing long COVID and considering a pregnancy, a new analysis carries a reassuring headline and one finding that deserves a closer look.
Researchers led by the University of Utah Health found no significant association between long COVID and preterm birth, according to a study published in Obstetrics & Gynecology and summarized by CIDRAP. The same primary analysis found no link to the study's secondary outcomes either, which included hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, cesarean delivery, neonatal intensive care admission, and small-for-gestational-age birth weight.
