A lone gunman has shot and wounded several people at a lecture theatre in Germany.
Police confirmed the attacker had died after the incident in the city of Heidelberg earlier today, but did not give details of how that happened.
The cops had earlier asked people on Twitter to avoid the Neuenheimer Feld area of Heidelberg, where the city's university is located.
It is not yet known how many people were wounded or how seriously their injuries are.
The weapon used in the shooting was a long-barrelled firearm.
