New research has revealed that Londoners have the most attractive accent in the UK. 2,000 adults were surveyed by language learning platform Preply, and found that Londoners comfortably take the cake.
Brits reportedly find the London accent the sexiest by some distance, with almost one-in-five people (17.89%) voting in its favour. The scouse accent had to settle for runner-up, with 10.24% of people finding Liverpudlian the most endearing.
Newcastle completed the podium places, trailing closely behind at 10.19%, while Cardiff is next with 8.90% of the vote. Leeds unfortunately sits at the bottom of the list, with just 4.37% of those surveyed finding it the most attractive.
Perhaps most interestingly, 41.50% believe that no UK cities possess an attractive accent.
More females (20.83%) than males (14.89%) concurred that Londoners have the most attractive accent. The second most attractive accent was that of Liverpool according to 10.97% of males and 9.53% of females.
Yorkshire and the Humber certainly drew the short straw of the survey, with 52.12% of those surveyed not finding it attractive whatsoever.
Its also fair to say that Londoners do support their own, as almost half of Greater London (47.18%) believed the nation's capital is the most attractive. Those in Northern Ireland appear to be big fans of Liverpool, gifting 17.54% of its vote to the Scouse accent, while 34.15% of people in the North East lust after the Geordie accent.
