Commuters are facing rail misery during Monday’s evening rush-hour with trains to and from Euston and other major London stations set to be disrupted until the end the day.
The travel chaos, caused by damage to overhead wires, has been affecting services between London Euston, Clapham Junction and Watford Junction all morning.
Trains may be cancelled or delayed by up to 45 minutes, National Rail warned commuters.
Among them are services between London Euston and Manchester Piccadilly, which run at 13 and 35 past the hour, which have been cancelled for the rest of Monday.
Avanti West Coast, London Northwestern Railway, and Southern services are affected.
On the Underground, the Piccadilly Line was suspended for hours on Monday morning between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge due to a points failure. It remained suspended around midday.
There were also severe delays on the London Overground, while TfL staff helped a person who was ill in on board a train at Whitechapel.
