London travel news LIVE: District Line part-suspended due to casualty, as broken rail disrupts Liverpool Street services

The District Line has been suspended between Earl’s Court and Wimbledon due to a casualty on the track.

British Transport Police and London Ambulance Service have been approached for more information.

There are also ongoing severe delays on the District Line between Edgware Road and Earl's Court, due to a signal failure at East Putney.

Elsewhere, commuters travelling to and from Liverpool Street are facing severe delays due to a broken rail in east London.

Routes between the busy station and Stansted Airport, Cambridge and Hertford East have been hit by cancellations and delays, with disruption expected to continue until the end of the day.

National Rail has warned that the broken rail was found overnight and the extent of the damage meant that the repair work could not be completed in time for the start of service on Tuesday.

The issue has hit Greater Anglia, London Overground and Stansted Express services.

No trains are able to run between Hackney Downs and Chingford on the London Overground. The issue has also sparked severe delays between Liverpool Street / Cheshunt and Enfield Town on the line.
