London travel news LIVE: Euston trains disrupted for second day after tree falls near Wolverhampton

Services to and from London Euston are disrupted for a second day after a tree fell onto the railway near Wolverhampton, damaging overhead wires.

Lines between Shrewsbury, Stafford and Wolverhampton are blocked, with delays, cancellations and diversions across Avanti West Coast, CrossCountry, London Northwestern Railway and West Midlands Railway routes.

An amended timetable is currently in operation to keep services running. As a result, your journey may be cancelled, shortened, or start/end at a different station than planned.

Trains departing from alternative stations may also experience delays.

Significant disruption is expected to continue until 12:30pm.

LNER disruption affecting London routes after incident at Durham

LNER services to and from London are still recovering after a person was hit by a train at Durham earlier this morning.

Although the line has now reopened, trains may remain delayed or disrupted while services return to normal, with full recovery expected by around 11am. Rail replacement services are continuing to operate in the meantime.

Passengers travelling to or from London are advised to check their journey before setting off, as some services may still be altered or delayed.

Passengers affected by the disruption can use their tickets on the following services at no extra cost.

  • Avanti West Coast between London Euston, Manchester and Edinburgh.
  • TransPennine Express between Manchester, Leeds and York/Newcastle & Edinburgh
  • Northern between Carlisle and Newcastle.
  • CrossCountry between Doncaster/Leeds, York and Newcastle/Edinburgh.
  • LUMO between Kings Cross to Edinburgh

Delays and cancellations at London Waterloo after Wimbledon train fault

Services into and out of London Waterloo are recovering after a faulty train in the Wimbledon area earlier caused disruption.

Lines have now reopened, but South Western Railway trains may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised while timetables return to normal. Disruption is expected to continue until around 11am.
