Fans of Jason Sudeikis’ hit series Ted Lasso about a fictional football club can now stay in the show’s favourite pub, The Crown & Anchor. To celebrate the highly anticipated third season of the Apple TV show hit ting screens on March 15 the landlady Mae, played by Annette Badland, will be hosting three stays at the famous pub for just £11 a night via Airbnb.
Named The Prince’s Head in real life, the pub in Richmond, London, is just around the corner from Ted’s apartment and is a gathering place for football fans and locals alike — and the unofficial meeting place of AFC Richmond's players and coaches on the show.
Guests who make a booking will be able to experience what it’s like to stay overnight at the traditional neighbourhood pub for the first time while putting themselves in the shoes of AFC Richmond coaches, players and pesky barflies alike. Up to four guests will have the opportunity to stay overnight on October 23, 24 and 25 this year.
During a stay, guests will be able to channel their inner football coach (or pub landlord) by cheering on the beloved local Richmond sports teams decked out in AFC Richmond gear; playing darts and chess as well as showing off their karaoke skills.
For just £11 a night (a nod to the number of players on the pitch), guests will be able to book three one-night stays. Mae, the host, said: “The Crown & Anchor is an essential fixture for AFC Richmond. It’s where friends, colleagues and teammates come together to celebrate our triumphs or cope with the agony of relegation.
“That’s why I’m pleased to host guests (and take the night off!). Time to give others the opportunity to experience the same camaraderie and sense of community that Coach Lasso inspires. After all, we’re Richmond ‘til we die!”
Ted Lasso fans can request to book the property from 6pm on Tuesday, March 21 via Airbnb — although if people just want to head down for a pint, they can do that too at The Prince's Head, 28 The Green, Richmond, Surrey TW9 1LX. The closest station to the pub is Richmond, but it can also be accessed via St Margarets (National Rail). There are more accommodation options on booking.com. Those interested in a visit can book UK and European trains, including cheap Eurostar tickets, on Trainline.
