London house prices now a record £521,000 on average — but growth lags behind rest of UK

London house prices rose 5.5 per cent in December, according to ONS

London’s annual house price growth picked up to 5.5 per cent in December to lift the average cost of a home in the capital to a record £521,146.

The capital’s property market was still the slowest rising in the UK, according to the Land Registry data, but anecdotal evidence has pointed to an acceleration in the New Year.
