An "explosion" could be heard before a plume of smoke began rising into the sky in north London during a thunderstorm.
Witnesses have described a "huge flash of light" accompanied by the sound of a "massive" bang in Hackney tonight.
One resident in nearby Clapton also said her living room "flashed blue when it happened", while another in Surrey Quays said it was "way too loud to be thunder".
