The candidates in Vadakara are K.K. Shailaja [CPI(M)], Shafi Parambil (INC), Praphul Krishnan (BJP), and Shafi T.P., Muraleedharan, Kunhikkannan, Shailaja K., Shailaja K.K., and Shailaja P., all Independents.
