Here’s the latest example that Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor is the as-advertised culture builder that players love to have in that spot.
When asked about his big contract extension with the Bengals, linebacker Logan Wilson quickly shifted the credit to Taylor.
“He’s such a players’ coach. He takes care of us like no other team does, Wilson said, according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com. “Guys recover better because of that. He takes care of us if we’re injured. All of these different things that go into it. He’s awesome. He’s been tremendous to play for and there’s just no other coach I wanted to play for.”
These sentiments about Taylor from Bengals players aren’t new and stretched far back into the early days of the tear down and rebuild before blossoming into a Super Bowl contender.
Wilson also said it’s a relief to have the business side of things done, of course. But it’s another mark in the column for Taylor, which should give fans some hope that similar themes eventually help keep someone such as Tee Higgins (Joe Burrow is a given) in town too.
