Logan Paul told "the gig is up" after YouTube star’s fight with Floyd Mayweather

Logan Paul has been told he can call himself a boxer after going the distance with ring legend Floyd Mayweather.

Paul went all eight rounds against former five-weight world champion Mayweather last June in an exhibition fight. It was Paul's third fight in the ring, having previously only competed in white-collar and professional bouts against fellow YouTuber KSI.

The 27-year-old has alleged he is still owed money from Mayweather for the clash almost a year later and insists that he hasn't been paid in full. But given Paul has stepped in the ring against one of the greatest boxers of all time, UFC analyst Chael Sonnen thinks he is now part of the boxing community.

"I tried not to be one of those dorks who likes the Paul bros. I tried everything I could do. I resisted as long as I could resist. I met Jake Paul. That was a problem for not liking him because he was very likeable. Logan Paul fought Floyd Mayweather. The gig is up," Sonnen said.

"When you get in there with Floyd, the gig is up. You're now part of the community, period. You didn't have to have the golden gloves, go through the military, make a world Olympic team as an amateur. You fought Floyd, it's over. You're now a part of this group."

Mayweather announced his latest exhibition fight earlier this week as he fights Don Moore on a helipad in Dubai in May. Whilst announcing the fight, 'Money' criticised Paul for "holding" him throughout their exhibition last year.

Paul has pondered hanging up his gloves for good but has also been linked to an exhibition fight against Brazilian comedian and singer Whindersson. 'The Maverick' recently ventured into professional wrestling and made his Wrestlemania debut alongside 'The Miz'.

Sonnen thinks Paul unofficially beat Mayweather despite no winner being announced in the fight. The UFC legend thinks Paul can count it as a win because he wasn't stopped by Mayweather.

"Not to mention, Logan and Floyd had an agreement as to what a winner would mean. Floyd did not just agree if you go the distance you can win, he thought he could get him out of there. Logan thought 'I could survive'. Logan beat Floyd," he added.

"Nobody griped that they went eight rounds, These two performers ahead of time told us what the rules were, that included the outcome that if it went to the distance and Logan is still standing, he wins.
