Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) reported third-quarter results on Thursday, Oct. 22, and on paper, there was little to complain about. Earnings came in at $7.97 per share, well ahead of the $7.52 analysts expected, while revenue climbed 11.3% over the prior year to $20.7 billion.
Management also raised its outlook for the second straight quarter. Lockheed now expects 2026 sales of about $80 billion to $82 billion, up from $79.75 billion to $81.75 billion, and earnings per share of roughly $30.35-$30.75, up from $29.95-$30.65. The immediate reaction following the stellar report? Shares closed up nearly 7% on the day, and trading back above the stock's key 200-day moving average.
