Four Lockerbie women took part in Scotland’s toughest trekathon on Saturday to raise £1,300 for Cancer Research UK.
Alison Voss, Debbie Semple, Frances Currie and Annette Carter trained for six months in the Lake District and the Moffat hills in preparation for the Great Glencoe Challenge.
They were tasked with trekking 26.2 miles from the heart of picturesque Glencoe to the foot of the UK’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis, in under 12 hours.
Alison said: “This is Scotland’s toughest trekathon, covering 26 miles, and gaining 4,000 ft.
“It was all in aid of Cancer Research UK and we have raised about £1,300 which we are delighted with.”
