Loch Ness booze cruise makes its return after 20 years to celebrate Queen's Jubilee

Almost as famous among locals as the Loch Ness monster herself, the Loch Ness by Jacobite Booze Cruise is set to make a comeback for one night only to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

After 20 years, the famous Booze Cruise hosted by Loch Ness by Jacobite will be held again on Saturday June 4.

“We’re so excited to bring back the Booze Cruise," Freda Newton, Managing Director of Loch Ness by Jacobite explained. "Many people still tell me about the fun times they had on our evening charters so when better to bring it back than during a weekend when we’ll all be celebrating and enjoying a long weekend."

The three-hour cruise will set off from Tomnahurich Bridge at 7pm and take in all the famous sights of Loch Ness from the Caledonian Canal to Urquhart Castle.

Freda added: “Our own Queen – the Jacobite Queen – will be our host for the evening and entertainment will be provided by DJs Simon and Scott. We really want everyone to have a fantastic evening so would encourage everyone to enjoy responsibly. We can’t wait to welcome booze cruisers old and new onboard!”

The original evening charter, which became known as the Booze Cruise, ran up until 2002.

Julie Douglas from Inverness is one of those who remembers the Booze Cruise fondly, she said: “The Booze Cruise was such a great night out back in the day! I spent many an enjoyable evening being a tourist on my own doorstep and enjoying the beautiful scenery while letting my hair down with friends. I’m so excited it’s back!”

Tickets for the Booze Cruise, which cost £40 and are available here, includes the three-hour cruise, a welcome drink and entertainment from DJs Simon and Scott.
