Bosses responsible for Loch Lomond and the surrounding area have advised tourists and day-trippers seeking scenic views during the current sunny weather to behave responsibly.
The west coast of Scotland is experiencing balmy conditions as an area of high pressure remains parked over the country. The summery conditions are bringing nationwide-high temperatures of 25C today that remain similarly high in the days ahead.
Scenic hotspots are expected to be packed with sun worshippers and picnickers looking to make the most of the weather. But the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs authority, which is responsible for the iconic waters, has warned those seeking a place to enjoy the sun to do so with care.
Car parks around the loch have been blockaded with cars belonging to those chasing the sun, prompting bosses to take to social media. As reported by Glasgow Live, the Loch Lomond authority's Twitter account has advised those who find the car parks overflowing to "find another place to visit".
The plea was illustrated with a photograph showing cars parked on grass verges and partially blocking a single-track road. The numberplates of the drivers responsible were blotted out to spare their blushes.
The national park's account said: "Car parks across the National Park are especially busy today. If a car park is full, please find another place to visit and don't block access.
"Blocking access is not only frustrating for others, but could also mean emergency services may not be able to get through."
There are 39 car parks throughout the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs national park, according to the authority's website. However, many of these are labelled as likely to get "busy early" at peak times.
This is not the first time that motorists have been warned against parking irresponsibly around the area of natural beauty. Drivers were reprimanded last year amid a sweltering heatwave that saw the mercury top 30C and brought out floods of visitors.
The Loch Lomond and the Trossachs authority said at the time: "Areas of the National Park like East Loch Lomond are very busy today If you're out enjoying the sunshine, please be considerate when choosing somewhere to park.
"Dangerous parking can cause accidents, block access for emergency services & can damage verges."
