A much loved East Lothian business had shared the tragic news that they will be forced to close due to a myriad of issues.
The Strawberry Barn in East Lothian announced their closure due to the “cumulative effects” of the pandemic, Brexit, the Ukrainian war as well as the cost of living crisis.
They have said that the issues combined together have meant that they had to make the “devastating decision.”

The venue was well known for their quaint café, on-site restaurant as well as their farm shop that sold local produce from suppliers in the area.
The Strawberry Barn also played host to several weddings and private events whilst serving the East Lothian community.
In a statement on their Facebook they said: “It is with great regret and much sadness that today we announce the closure of The Strawberry Barn.
“The cumulative effects of the pandemic, Brexit, the war in Ukraine and the cost-of-living crisis have been too much for the business to bear and continuing to operate in these conditions has become untenable.
“This was a devastating decision to have to make, but at this point we have been left with no other option.
“The external factors make it no easier to bear and no less heartbreaking that things have come to this point, and we are so grateful to both the staff and customers who have stuck with us and offered their loyalty, support and understanding over the last three years.
“Anyone directly affected by the closure will be contacted personally by email, and we greatly appreciate your understanding while we do our absolute best to address everyone’s queries and concerns.”
One customer commented on their post: "So very very sorry. It is one of my most favourite places to go.
"So unfair that you have had to face into so many external challenges. Good luck with your future ventures."
Whilst another said: "Absolutely gutted to hear this. The times I have been there it was the nicest place and usually there was always folk there so it was popular.
"I just literally emailed them last week to get opening times as last time I went it was closed but losing it completely is a real loss for the town.
"Its a shame the council and energy suppliers can't help. Then we could keep it open.
"Sorry to hear that. And thanks for the good times. It will be missed !!!!!"
And someone else commented: "Oh no, that is devastating news, this is our favourite place to eat out. My family are going to be so sad when I tell them.
"Thank you for all the fabulous meals we have had and the warm comfy surroundings and all your lovely staff.
"Good luck with whatever you go on to do."
