Voters have had their say in polls across the North East.
Council seats were up for grabs in Newcastle, Sunderland, Gateshead, North Tyneside, and South Tyneside this year and we have been bringing you all the results as they come in. Each of the five Tyne and Wear councils had one third of their seats up for election in 2023, while Durham and Northumberland are not due to stage elections again until 2025.
Polls closed at 10pm on Thursday, May 4, and some results were announced overnight. Newcastle, Sunderland, and South Tyneside started counting results on Thursday night and all declared the results by the early hours of Friday.
Gateshead and North Tyneside will be staging their counts on Friday morning and hope to have their results all declared by around 1pm.
Using our special results tool below, you can check the results from your area – just type the name of the council you're looking for into the box at the top to see your authority's latest numbers.
