Liberal National Party leader David Crisafulli has made his first shadow cabinet tweak since becoming Queensland opposition leader after the election of former attorney-general Jarrod Bleijie as his new deputy.
LNP leader David Crisafulli says Mr Bleijie was elected unanimously in a party room vote on Monday afternoon.
The Kawana MP was the attorney-general and justice minister during the former Newman LNP government from 2012 to 2015.
Mr Crisafulli also announced another five changes to his shadow cabinet after deputy leader David Janetzki's resignation for family reasons on February 26.
"I'd like to extend my congratulations to all members of our team who have taken on new roles as we work together to hold an ageing third-term government to account and chart a genuine alternate vision the people of Queensland deserve," he said in a statement on Tuesday.
Mr Crisafulli said Mr Bleijie would also remain opposition spokesman for industrial relations, but would take fellow LNP frontbencher Fiona Simpson's roles speaking on state development, infrastructure and planning.
Mr Bleijie will also be opposition's Olympics and Paralympic infrastructure spokesman.
"May I thank the my colleagues for electing me deputy leader of the opposition," Mr Bleijie told parliament.
"I look forward to taking it up to the government ... can I also thank David Janetzki, our former leader.
"I look forward to the challenges ahead as we take the take the fight up to the government in terms of accountability."
Mr Crisafulli has handed Mr Bleijie's finance spokesperson responsibilities to Ms Simpson, who will retain her role as the opposition's integrity advocate.
Meanwhile, Glasshouse MP Andrew Powell will take over from Mr Bleijie as manager of opposition businesses.
Toowoomba North MP Trevor Watts will be the opposition cabinet secretary, while Theodore MP Mark Boothman has been promoted to opposition whip and Currumbin MP Laura Gerber will be deputy whip.
Southern Downs MP James Lister has taken Ms Gerber's place as one the state's deputy Speakers.
Mr Janetzki said last month being deputy leader had exacerbated physical and mental health challenges for his family, which were "often met by my wife Mel alone".
The Toowoomba South MP will continue as shadow treasurer but said on Tuesday that stepping down as deputy opposition leader was straightforward.
He thanked his LNP colleagues and Labor government MPs who had reached out to him in recent weeks.
"All of us and our loved ones have sacrificed something for us to be here in this house and to serve our communities, that is one thing we all share, Mr Speaker, regardless of the differences in our political viewpoints," Mr Janetzki told parliament.
